The Common Room Framlingham is perfectly located in the centre of Framlingham and just a 10 minute drive. The Common Room is a perfect stop before heading to Framlingham Castle, made famous by Ed Sheeran’s ‘Castle on the Hill.
Marlesford Café is just 15 minutes’ drive away and offers a lovely breakfast served with a smile. This café is also the perfect stop if you are heading for a day out to the stunning Suffolk coast and will be a perfect interlude before your trip to Aldeburgh, Southwold or Orford.
Grundisburgh Deli Just 15 minutes away, this is a great place for breakfast and a perfect stop if you are heading for a day out in Woodbridge – a beautiful market town and well worth a visit during your stay.
Two Magpies Bakery This is a small independent chain offering a lovely breakfast or brunch if you are heading to Woodbridge, Southwold, Aldeburgh, or going further afield to Norwich. Their bread is excellent too to bring back with you for supper.

Lunch and Dinner

The Cretingham Bell This charming local pub is a 5 minute stroll away in the village and offers a lovely local pub atmosphere and great pub food. This place gets very busy so we would highly recommend booking in advance, especially if you are looking for Sunday lunch.
The Eastern White Horse This pub is a 10 minute drive away and offers excellent food with a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. Again, we would highly recommend booking as it gets very busy, especially in the summer months.
The Station Hotel Just 10 minutes away in the charming town of Framlingham. If you want a really local vibe and enjoy good food, make sure you head here. It gets very busy and has been featured in a number of publications, so booking is essential, even on a Monday.
Watson and Walpole A 10 minute drive away in Framlingham town centre, this place is lovely for a treat and is co-owned by the hotel inspector Ruth Watson.
The Unruly Pig 25 minutes away from Kingfishers, just near Woodbridge, this place is excellent for a special occasion. It serves a really fun and interesting menu, with excellent service.
Sole Bay Fish Company A 35 minute drive away and based in the beautiful town of Southwold, this place is amazing! It has a fresh fish counter for you to grab some lovely local fish for your stay, a fantastic indoor restaurant (gets booked up well in advance so booking is essential) or you can just grab a take out which is equally as good and can be enjoyed sitting on the benches overlooking the harbour. You can also get the little water taxi over to Walberswick from here to enjoy a bit of crabbing, or just take in the sights.
